Coco-cola styling work BTS

It was Christmas eve when the final shooting date for the TVC of Coca-Cola was scheduled, and launched this January. I'm so thrilled because it's my first international brand TVC i'm styling with, well I did Anchor beer but I won't compare it to Coke ;)

So let me share to you what happened.

The first location is at the street of Phnom Penh, outside the post office.

I really love location shoot because people are really curious on what's happening.

Not to mention, the star of the commercial is Aok Sokunkanha, their number 1 superstar here in Cambodia. It's my 2nd time working and dressing her up for a TV commercial but this one released first, will tell you the next one once its released ;)

My inspiration for the looks are young, fresh, and a bit of hipster. They instructed me to be Korean pop that changed the day before the shoot, good thing I know my resources.

Thanks also to these two. Engrid and Adi, it's not my first time to work with their agency, but it's my first time working on their account, it's really fun working with friends.

Engrid is also the master of detailing.

Look at the cute Coke bottle, I want to bring home. But this bottle is only used for TVC, fresh from Vietnam.

There's also a trick i've learned on shooting Coke, they want it to be lighter so they're mixing it with something. Hahahah! I won't tell :)

This is fun. Improvised camera stand. The camera should follow when Sokunkanha drinks the Coke.

This is her second outfit, a little marketing with the colors but still a diva fashion on the street!

Moved to second location, I need to leave because we have Christmas eve dinner at Naga, so before I left, I made sure that the director approves all the wardrobe and the detailing. So happy, the director love me! Plus points!

For the last set, I just want to play on lines and very JJ kind of look, so here's the last set.

I really had fun working for this one, more to come hopefully!

4th styling work: Coca-Cola

This is currently my favorite wardrobe styling job I did for a TV commercial, because it's just easy, fun, youthful and i'm worked with one of the biggest stars in Cambodia, Aok Sokunkanha.

The director instructed me with some color palette and advised me to get fun and musically inspired clothes. I interpreted it in a slightly hipster way. It's a nice experience working with the team, not to mention that we shoot this on the weekend over Christmas eve.

Well, my recent fascination with watch, specifically Swatch is getting to the next level. In almost a month, I got 3 Swatch watches. Speaking of hoarding.

I asked my friend who went to Singapore last December to get me this and he gave it me as a Christmas gift. So yay! Jeremy Scott x Swatch Double Vision.

And my boyfriend got me this as a New Year's gift from Bangkok. Jeremy Scott x Swatch Melted Minutes.

And this one, not free. I got it for myself as a gift for a job well done. Swatch FW 2011 Camouflage collection, Black Effect. Thanks Karen for buying me this from Manila.

Smart Mobile "Morph" (The making)

Ok (breathes deeply), Now I have free time to blog. So let me share you the 3rd styling work I did for a mobile company (Smart mobile) here in Cambodia. If you haven't seen it. Watch it HERE.

So basically, I really didn't style much for this one I just refer to what needs to achieve because I have guidelines anyway because they only asked me for 10 national costumes of 10 different countries. Let me tour you what happened.

Smart mobile is promoting their cheap international call and they asked me to pull out 10 national costumes, it includes: Cambodia, Thailand, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, USA, France, Russia & Vietnam. At first I know what strategy i'll do, but of course there are changes along the way that frustrates me.

The accessories area, i'm telling you it's so complicated ah!

Hats and one head piece. Good thing they didn't include Venezuela on the country list.

Starting with Cambodia

This is Malaysia's national costume, we're shooting only profile so I didn't let the model wear the pants. This is nice because I pulled it out from the Malaysian embassy for free.

India's national costume. I'm super thankful with my boyfriend, he's the one pulled this one out when the client asked for a purple India costume 1 day before the shoot. So happy that he works with some Indian teachers, who's nice to lend her Saree for the shoot.

Thailand's national costume is from Blue Chilli, a gay bar here in Phnom Penh. Oak, the owner is Thai and he's nice to lend it for the shoot and brought me to a shop where I can rent costumes.

This is the most complicated one. Russia.
Because there are different kinds for their national costume, so I stick to this. I asked my tailor to make this, even the head piece. I only choose the style, edit it and choose the fabrics. Had 2 revision of the dress before the shooting day.

The most complicated one, Singapore. Not to mention, the most expensive among all. I asked my tailor to make this 4 times!!! You have no idea, how I want to give up with this one.

But anyway, it was a successful and easy shooting day once every wardrobe is approved by the client, I just need to be there and accessorize the model. For the other clothes, I just bought them or rented them.

It's almost 2012 and I realized that this my 4th entry this December, sorry. I'm really busy with work and "other" works. Twitter and Facebook also drains me to write something for the blog, but anyway, i'm happy.

Before the year ends I booked 3 wardrobe styling for commercials (2 brands) and 1 of those brands is an international one. I'm so excited to share it with you. The release is around January for the first one and 2 campaigns on February. I'm just happy doing wardrobe styling...aside from the extra $$$, of course it keeps my mind off the magazine, but still fashion which I love.

Personal life is happy, but i'll just keep it for myself. This is not my diary, anyway. I'll try to write before the year ends but I might be busy moving house. #fact

But all in all, i'm excited to welcome the new experiences in 2012.

Cambodia Fashion Week : Don Protasio

Don Protasio's first absence for the Philippines Fashion Week showcased his one of the best collection so far. 'Dissection' highlighted Don's pattern making skills and his attention to details in the 32 looks but it's definitely the individual pieces that stand out. Don Protasio's magic of giving the people choice to interpret his clothes to be worn is always there.

The mood of the whole collection brings you to a place where everyone wears edgy and experimental clothing. The mix and match of plastic, silver, black, military green and whites is quite a bold move for the Cambodian market but it was a truly inspiring collection of Don Protasio that set a different vision for the people of how to wear clothes.

The shoes gave a different height for the entire collection and silver accessories gave an organic touch on some of the looks. I got really emotional on how Don Protasio present this collection and the whole mood of it. Truly inspiring.

Cambodia Fashion Week : Eric Raisina

Eric Raisina, the master of texture opened the Cambodia Fashion Week in full color. Though the collection started with white and black drapes, I think my heart skips its beat when the opening dress walked down on the runway. I was thinking of different "Eric" showcasing for the Cambodia Fashion Week, the DRAPES!!! flowy fabric is really breath-taking a new pattern dress that everyone would love and try to wear. The men's collection was fine for me, there a few pieces I would love to try, especially the textured jackets.

But after the neutrals ones, the music queued for the festive bright colors, from neons to fuschias and to sunny yellow, in this moment I felt that Eric is showing his signature pieces. The unique fabrics that create a wild but still sophisticated dresses, only Eric can create a fringe dress made of cut out fabrics that is color white, yellow, red, orange in black all in one dress and it will look fashion-forward, though he should've asked for help editing in terms of styling but it's an amazing show of Eric Raisina. Truly a remarkable opening of the first Cambodia Fashion Week.

Remarks : My good friend Don Protasio styled this outfit using the stuff in my closet because at first we planned not to go on this day of the fashion week, but it all changed. All the clothes are thrifted except the gladiator sandals is from Don Protasio. We're all Japanese ninja or whatever that day.

Now that we're back to our normal life, time to look back on what we did for the past hectic, fashion-stress & late sleep 10 days had pass.

What I really enjoyed the most is that I perfected my attendance and i'm in the front row of all the shows (but not a big deal if i'm seated 2nd row, i'm just thrilled I was seated 1st row) that's why i'm eager to write reviews after this post, so please stay tune. Day 2 (actually Night 2) of Gelo in Phnom Penh and because they're half way done with their docu-shoot. We celebrated it with a fun chill night out...I literally stole Gelo from his group. But before that, Romyr treated the whole gang to a boat river cruise. It was fun! Thanks that the rain stopped in time for the cruise.

It was a fun day yesterday, though I had a stressful cover photo shoot yesterday but it ended fabulously (rainbows, camouflage and spikes involve) because FabGELOus is having their school field trip here in Phnom Penh and of course, even though it's our first time that we will physically meet...like Karl, Thysz and Mike...the fashion bind is there (Thanks to DP). So the meet-up was most likely a catch up for us.

It was fun showing a fab friend around, my PP friends were thrilled seeing that me and DP's weird aura (choice of clothes) are not just us...it's normal with our friends. LOL

Some PP friends (well, me too na din) were surprised seeing Bianca King...he's Gelo's classmate. She's really pretty and super nice.

But i'm more excited to tour Gelo around...we're laughing that it might not be a field trip after all. LOL In the photo...of course, Gelo needs to show me his signature pose. (pic from Gelo's blog)

LOVE!!! Will have a boat tour with their whole class tomorrow! So excited!

I've been out from Facebook and Twitter since last week for some personal reasons but I still use as a connection to some friends via inbox and direct messages. And of course, reading other people's rants and narcissism posts. LOL

And it gives me time to post here in my blog and time for myself and privacy. Chos.

Print days

I can still remember the day I got fascinated by visual, graphics and design stuff, it was a nice feeling that someday you wouldn't know that it'll be the profession you'll be part with. In my story, it's being a team player of visual and graphic designs.

When I arrived here in Cambodia, before working for F Magazine in 2009 I was a graphic artist and contributing writer to an educational magazine for teens, this was in 2008. And before that, before leaving Pinas, I remember leaving media and events production, to pursue my visual and graphics fascination, but turned out I still worked for an event company as a creative writer. But with all these, I still help with the print and graphic works.

I was cleaning my hard drive today and saw some of the published works i've done and it brings me back to the days when i'm starting my career. Check them out :

I still remember that one of my mentor, Eileen Lui called me when I pass her some print studies for an advertising pitch, and I'm so nervous that time that I might did something wrong. But she told me that it was good and well thought off, even they don't give proper briefing. Naks!

And before entering college, my dad thinks that i'll be working in the media sphere. Which is, well...my turf and where I have some knowledge in all aspects. I can't say i'm a professional..for now, I know people and how it works.

And now, i've realized that i'm that I can be commercial when it comes to my designs or in any, because of my researching skills, I always consider the market or the people will see my works but I never forget to put my own touch to it. Even though, sometime it's really itchy to do something 100% of your well-being, I really need to do that. Hmmm...

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 17
Actually ANTM bores me already since their 10th cycle, and I really didn't plan to download this but a friend copied it for me and now i'm hooked.

Just finished watching the 3rd episode and it's my favorite episode. I love love Glee.

THE A-LIST NEW YORK SEASON 2
I love to hate that i'm watching and hooked on this show. The cheap gayness really made LOL. Will watch the season 2's last episode soon. I'm saving it for the right time, because your blood pressure will for sure rise while watching it. LOL

PROJECT RUNWAY SEASON 9
I actually haven't watched the season 5-8, so this is my comeback for this reality show. On my 10th episode now and I still don't have my sure favorite. Hmmm.

THE SING-OFF SEASON 3
Acapella group singing contest that will make you feel good. I watched some of the episodes of the first 2 seasons and decided to watch this season and funny part is that Antoinette Taus was on the 1st episode. LOL Moment. Currently on their 3 episode from NBC.

From Fox, i'm so obsessed with this singing search. Not on a very positive way, but i'm addicted to it. LOL

A CBS show that's on hype right now, I just downloaded the 3 episodes that's why I can't give my review yet. But the idea of the creator of Sex and The City, Michael Patrick King did this show made me look forward to it.

I remember when I was a kid, I'm amazed with Earth, Wind, Water and Fire power, this was even before Captain Planet. Same reason I was hooked with Encantadia (Filipino TV show) so TCS caught my interest and the modern twist is quite fun...a bit "you know what will happen" but it's fun. Show from CW.

A show just recently premiered on FX. From creators and producers of Glee. Quite interesting trailer. I'm not actually scared, I feel more fashion...avant-garde. Downloading the first episode now and can't wait to watch tonight. Yes tonight :)

Some people says that because of the smoking cover will let the youth be influence by smoking. Pffff!! Hello?! good parenting? It's like PlayBoy magazine...don't let your kids, buy the magazine if that's the case.

For me, it's called art form of reality. Please no more addition to the third world category. Losen up!

And I read on twitter, "If the celebrities were holding a rosary, do they think the youth will be influenced practicing the rosary?"

Actually I've been thinking what to write for our 2nd year anniversary. It's quite weird that I have tons of thoughts but I can't express it.

Tomorrow we're celebrating our 2nd anniversary. Wow! Time really fly so fast. I can still remember the dilemmas and dramas of creating the first issue. Sigh. But it was fun, memorable and whirlwind 2 years of working in the magazine that aims to change Cambodia in terms of fashion, people says through the issues goes by we're keep better and better and i'm happy that we're achieving it.

Now, Cambodia Fashion Week is coming, more international brands, and new fashion magazine....the market is getting bigger and bigger and it gives me the energy to focus and create more, but in a very low key mode. I want this celebration to be a success but in my part i'll take it really seriously (low key). Even my outfit will be simple this year -- in a very simple professional way. LOL

I'm just thankful that I feel so blessed. Happy Anniversary F!

Now thanks for the info from my friend Don, Now I know that they're doing a Fall/Winter 2011, but now it's 4 wrist watches and 1 pocket watch. Exciting. Let me show you my favorites.

I''m guessing this is a clear one. I love the simplicity of it, like the lightning flash last season, this one is the most easy to put on with the outfit. Will be my first buy when this collection is released.

Same as Opulence last season, but hopefully this won't be the same material because it's really tough (Opulence). I love this one because there's a big JS sign around it.

I think this is the must-buy for this collection and i'm expecting the most expensive. I hope it's not too big like the pic. But I would love to have one. Please universe! Hahahaha!

This kinda ok to me, it has its uniqueness to it....very JS. I don't hate it but I don't love it. Anyway, last season, my least favorite is the Opulence, but I ended up wearing it for 2 weeks, so we can't tell.

My least favorite is this one, like the lightning flash, i'm so afraid i'm ending up this one will be my favorite. Though, it has animal print and the double loop is too girly for my taste. I would love to see it in real and maybe i'll dig it. LOL

Can't wait! Hopefully I got to have it all, again.

Working in the so-called "fashion business" I'm trying my very best not to be the "nega" editor I must say. Some collections, pieces or shops here in Phnom Penh (or wherever) that didn't suits my taste (personally) nor the commercial side where I can say "nice" to be featured.

So I prefer to smile for some visions and pieces and prefer to praise the ones that I love.

And Paradigm Shift's new collection called PURE is one of the one that I would love to praise. The vision is just there...no drama, simple and effortless. I really like the natural vision of the designs, it's like the designers didn't put so much concept but it's full of it. So complicated to explain. Ugh! It's just me. LOL

This is my favorite compare to the first 3 collections.

Movies in Cambodia

I can't say that i'm a "movie" type of person. I'm not like others where they know the directors, actors and they can give critique on the plot or how the actor or actress portray the role.

But last time I was in Belgium, I just realized that how movie-fanatic I am. Going to a video store and seeing the movies that I watched gave my BF the thought of, "So which one are you watching?" and I made me think to watch the movies that I saw already. And I realized that I'm really like movies...just it.

Anyway, YES! this is another blog for the newest movie house in Phnom Penh. First, I didn't thought of i'll be writing this blog because i'm just lazy. But this is part of Phnom Penh history so in a way I should gave myself a chance to express what I thought (or what I did)

I asked my friend to buy the Transformer 3 ticket 3 days in advance (excited much?!) and got the VIP seats.Me (in stripes) and Don (from Siem Reap) watching Transformer 3 in 3D

I have some friends coming from Siem Reap and treated them by buying a VIP seats. I want them to experience it.

Let me start that i'm really into birthdays because I think that i'll be always a kid at heart that enjoy (not the attention) but the simple things of something to celebrate. I'm telling you, I cried in the Disneyland parade when I saw the Disney princess. #fact

For this year, I turned 25 (Yes! Real age) and I really don't have any plans of celebrating it. As in, not at all...no birthday gift for myself or any thing related to birthday. We'll maybe because I just came back from my vacation and the day of my birthday is when my BF is coming back to EU. #sadness

But good friends really do exists, aside from the greetings in Facebook. My two good Cambodian friends/boss came up with a simple intimate dinner for me. #happiness

The thing with that is I just feel special. I really don't care of how many people i'll be spending my birthday with but I prefer to do it with the people who care for me and me to them. I'm telling you, I really feel honored that they give time for me, knowing their background and who they are.

Special mention to my friend Mylene, though she need to work but she took time to pass the cake in the resto to surprise me.

In the end, I realized that even though I think i'm a kid at heart, I'm still thinking mature on reality. #life

Just got my copy of my 2nd wardrobe styling work, this time it's a beer brand - Anchor Beer.

My concept was "Edited Khmer" - I didn't showcase too much blingy dresses and not too silky for men. You'll notice, the groom and the band was wearing suits because...Errr. Traditional??! So I just stick to the traditional for the mom and dad.

Anyway, just watch.

I didn't expect i'll be able to complete the three Swatch x Jeremy Scott watches.

My first is the Winged Watch (March 28, 2011)
I asked my friend from Philippines who's visiting me to buy me this or the yellow one.
I thought this will be my only JS x Swatch, and the signature wings of JS is not that bad to own.

But on April 16, I got my Swatch Opulence because I asked my Khmer (Cambodian) friend (who's going to Hong Kong) to check if there's still the yellow one there. Unfortunately, there's none.

But instead he gave me this Opulence instead AS A GIFT!!! Happiness! (No need to complain!)

And yesterday. May 2, my friend who went to Kuala Lumpur checked the Lightning Flash Swatch there. And Luckily, they still have. And I couldn't say no because in Philippines, Hong Kong and even I checked in Bangkok this style is sold out or you need to reserve.

Our cover girl Monineath got new projects and show. I hope because of us :-)

O2 Salon is now recognized as high-class salon in Phnom Penh :-)

Been absent for quite some time for many reasons but mostly it's because of work. My schedule is really ticking because of plans and commitments plus I want time for myself. I’m telling you, I need more than 24 hours in a day. Sigh. I have this thing in my head that time really flies literally nowadays. Why? Hmm..

Anyway, I just want to update this blog, because I received an email from my dad asking why I don’t update anymore. LOL. Yeah, my dad is a blog reader. It’s just me that I prefer not opening my laptop at home and dedicating my free time to myself, actually if I want to write something, I just choose to write an article for the magazine because it’s more productive. Still it’s work. Yeah I’m workaholic, I don’t know why, that will be the thing I’ll be an addict with. I’m the type of person if I commit into something, I’ll make ways to do it or my life will be around it. I can ignore people around me to focus on that thing. Just Sayin’. LOL

Plus that fact that I have Facebook and Twitter account, that makes me feel that I’m updated always because of micro-blogging through my BB. But it’s just my excuse not updating this blog. LOL

So I have free time now? Because while I’m typing this I’m at our office while our translator is working on the article’s layout and I have my laptop, nothing makes me excited on this Sunday afternoon than BBM-ing Don Protasio with our silly jokes.

Hmmm. What special occasions just happened or planning, I’ll try to list down.

First, I’m so excited for my annual summer vacation with my boyfriend, been in the back of our heads since February, but now we’re starting to have plans without the details, can’t share for now but soon I promise.

I’ve been into cooking lately. Watching cooking shows like Junior Masterchef and Masterchef US in StarWorld inspires me to create dishes and I believe that i'm a 5 star chef in my past life. LOL Not to mention, I’ve always like good food and I want to gain weight. I’m 58 kilos as from April 22.

Did our summer issue for May! Reason to be at the beach and it’s still work. LOL

Julius from the land of Bangkok, visits Cambodia and that’s Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. And I think he “enjoyed” it! Right B? (In photo L-R : Don, Me and Julius)

I have this thing in me now that I want to spend time with quality friends, so I never go out that much nowadays. I prefer to be seen in special occasions only. #pa-special

I got an email from our Editor/Publisher last Monday.

And THIS website created a buzz in our office.

They bought our magazine, rip it off, scan it, put their credits and put it online with their google ads. Not only our magazine, but other local magazines as well.

In some point this is publicity for us reaching some audience we haven't tapped yet, but we hope that they asked us first. And the google ads say the purpose of using us for their own means.

We're so sorry but this might be settled on legal court.
