I attended the first Anachakdara Awards ceremony (it's like Oscars/Grammy) last night and I got a VIP invite, and today I saw my picture in Sabay website (Cambodia entertainment news website) and of course I don't know what it's written by hey! i'm there...hahaha!

Valentines dinner

Last Valentine's day was my 1st Valentines that I made an effort to celebrate Valentines with someone special by sending him roses. Click full story HERE.

But this year is a different one because the one i'm currently dating is here with me and its the first for both of us to spend Valentine's the right (traditional) commercial way.

Last last week, an early Valentines gift from him by bringing me to a surprise getaway to Kep. And my gift to him was bringing him out for a Valentines dinner.

Before choosing Topaz, I did and intensive research of where to bring him. I also used my connection of getting the menu list as early as February 1 and with all the restaurant I thought Topaz is not a bad choice.

Even I heard from few friends that the food here is a so, so and the head chef just left, it didn't bother me, because I just feel this is the right place, not to mention they're the only one not serving fish, because my boyfriend is not a fan.

They have a special set menu for Valentine's day.

Crab chunk, Celeriac Mayonnaise & Black Truffle and Asparagus ravioli.

They added this one last minute, I know it's salmon and didn't tell to bf (I said it's crab)

He didn't like the caviars, but he ate half of it because he find it fishy.

It's salmon fillet in scallop tartar. I love this.

This is sea consomme with lobster tail ravioli. We both love this one.

Passion fruit sorbet.

Main: Young pigeon roasted with gratin dauphinois and foiegras and spring vegetables.

I know, meat. Well, I won't lie, I tried the pigeon, it's nice but the meat is a bit rare for my taste, but bf liked this so much, after all that sea things he really enjoy this dish and I shared mine to him. (i know! so sweet) so I only ate the veggies and the dauphinois.

Roquefort blue cheese. We both love blue cheese, and this meal didn't make 5 mins and it's all gone. LOL

The sinner: strawberry and raspberry duo (I know! so sexy), meringue, the arrow is white chocolate and a shot of sparkling moscato. This is soooo yummy.

After dinner, I must say it's not bad at all, bf enjoyed it so much and he would want to come back and try their a la carte menu. I love Topaz and thanks for making our special night more special, though you failed in your branding written in your menu, but that's ok.

It really pays off traveling 12 hours (back and forth) to Siem Reap just to watch the last presentation of Hotel de la Paix before their renovation, not to mention that it's Eric Raisina show. Check out my photos (using my BB, sorry)

As for the show, Eric's collection is always perfect showcasing for a fashion show because it always have drama. The show is great, models, etc. and it's truly a successful show. Congratulations to everyone who are involve. And i'll definitely miss Hotel de la Paix.
